Download course syllabus Prerequisites: Enrollment in Instrumental Music. An audition is also required prior to final registration. Jazz students study the contemporary Jazz idiom. Improvisation, theory, harmony, and history of jazz performance are studied. Students are ability grouped into ensembles. Jazz students perform at several festivals, Swing Show, and concerts throughout the year. Jazz Combos are small groups formed by audition at the beginning of the year.
