Adding Pep to THE PIT
North Scott Press, March 10 2004
ELDRIDGE - While lining up for the national anthem prior to the
final regular season basketball game Feb. 27 against Davenport Assumption,
North Scott assistant coach Kevin Tippet said it best: "We have
a great pep band!"
The band, which always features the talents of more than 100 Lancer
musicians, played at nine home athletic events this year, and each
student in the school's music department is required to perform
at half of them. "It's a chance for the students to come and have
a good time," said Mike McMann, one of the band's directors. "We
just let the kids take over and learn," added fellow director Bill
Kessinger. "Playing in Pep Band is awesome, and wicked," said senior
Tony Tandeski. "I'm sad it's over," added senior Sarah Hayungs.
